Birthday Suit
My birthday is in April. Oops, I think I have already mentioned that only a few posts ago. Anyhoo. Around January I start planning the outfit I will wear on the night of celebrations. I have to start early because I am a very indecisive person [committment and me are not friends]. There have already been several imagined outfit changes in 2008, approximately 23. Much research has been undertaken. I'm currently working on the accessories component of my outfit. This week: tights. I need a pair of stripe tights, regardless of whether they make the final cut or not. I do live in the city that is home to the Striped Army, after all.

P.S. The irony behind all this forward planning is that come the beginning of April I always decide that I no longer want a birthday party because the idea of being the centre of attention for a night overwhelms me. As such, I now have a wardrobe full of fabulous Birthday Suits that have never made their debut, despite the massive amount of time invested in them. Sigh. Maybe this year.

I'm Special
I often tell people the selection of songs I would sing if I were a contestant on Australian Idol. They may not care to hear it, but I volunteer the information anyway. That said, most people are interested. Many laugh! I'll be having the last laugh when I one day win Australian Idol.
My audition song would be Brass in Pocket, for two reasons; the lyrics are quirky for an audition, and Chrissie Hynde is a Goddess I admire very much.

When I'm famous, you can tell people you read it first, right here on my blog! Ha.

See you in Paris...
Forget cupcakes. They are so last year. It is all about the macaron right now. No, not a macaroon nor macaroni [though both as equally delicious as the other], I'm talking about the delightful macaron. I'll be eating lots of these in July 2009.

Home Is... Take 2

Today I decided to [finally] pick up where I left off with Home Is... This time for real. I have started to chip away at a redesign. I have also started to research new communities I would like to invite to get involved. It is going to be a long project, perhaps one that will actually never be complete because of the organic nature of the idea. A little bit like PostSecret, one of my favourite community projects. PostSecret is my source of inspiration and motivation for Home Is...Until Home Is... hits the book stands [think big yes?], or goes online, or even both; I am going to give you occasional sneak peek via this blog.
Today, its all about Martha.

Relax, its Queensland

Relax, its Queenland. That was the first thing I read as I crossed over the border from New South Wales into Queensland. I read it off a car number plate. It made me smile immediately. Relax; its what I planned to do.Relax is what I did. I loved loved loved my time on the Gold Coast. What a beautiful place to spend your time. Beaches, good weather [even the storms were nice!], good food and an all-round good atmosphere.
I was born and bred in Melbourne; the home of Australia's cafe latte society, bars down lane ways, the MCG and the eccentric arts. Its an awesome city to live in. A city that is worlds apart from the Gold Coast. So as someone who has been described as 'very Melbourne' on more than one occasion; it has surprised many that since my return I have mentioned living on the GC for a year...
Oh, the possibilities.

P.S. The photos above are the two views from my hotel room balcony. When we checked in I ran into the room and threw myself on the bed closest to the window to secure it as mine so that I could wake up to those views each day. Childish? Yes. Waking up to that every morning? Sensational.
Poladroid Mad

It is 44 degrees Celsius outside. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow at 8.30am [no biggie, just a check up, but I am scared of doctors], and I've had, well, a fairly average working week that I will spare you the details of.My point [apart from having a small whinge]: its Friday night and I'm not feeling like playing up. So I went a bit Poladroid-mad before dinner. Snap snap snap around the house and uploaded onto my Flickr.
Go on. Take a look. It will give you a small insight into my daily surroundings.

P.S. There is a rather large bushfire less than a kilometre away from my home right now. It would make for some awesome photos, but I felt that to be a bit inappropriate!
