I Must Admit...

... that was a great game of football.

Am I converted? 4 n 20 meat pies. Big plastic cups of beer. Braving Melbourne's winter. It all might be on the cards next year.

Learn Something New Everyday.

I'm going through a strange phase in my life; a phase where I'm struggling to hold a conversation, even with those closest to me. I think a combination of contributing factors include a loss of focus, a lot on my mind & lots and lots of change (seasonal, social & professional). Once upon a time it was a challenge to shut me up! I was always the extrovert never the introvert. I used worry that I came across as arrogant and self obsessed, now I'm worried I'm alienating people in a totally opposite fashion.

Its been playing on my mind a bit today but now I think this site may have saved me. Conversation starters? Indeed. :D

Marc Jacobs on Film

Big thanks to Flo for taking me to see one of the docos from the Marc Jacobs on Film series at ACMI. I highly recommend you keep an eye on the ACMI site because they always have bonza pieces on show.  And, its just across the road from delicious tapas at Movida Next Door

What a way to spend a Saturday!

Le Love.

There are a handful of people in this world that can tell you romance makes me all kinds of awkward.

So it was a surprise that I found Le Love a cute blog to read.

Lazy Sunday.

I've had such a great weekend! Pottering around the house, Friday night drinks with Kel at our local (it is literally the half way point between our homes, about a 5 minute walk away), Saturday night dinner with Mum & Dad at arguably Melbourne's best Indian restaurant (it must be, Ben Cousins was there! Haha.) followed by Foyle's War (I am addicted, and yes, an old lady in a 27 year old body) and and and...! I just ordered one of the above beauties from Sydney Vintage Bikes.

Next week? Press Club, Jersey Boys & a night at a luxury hotel with the Hartley ladies.

Ah, life doesn't get much better than this.

Meg has been on fire with the articles lately.

Homelessness week has ended, but this article is still an insightful read. Robbie's story is inspiring.

Sunday 5 July 2009

Hello.

A small hiatus has been had from this blog. But I will be back, this week in fact.

What has kept me so busy? Well:

  • Forging a new career.
  • Applying for apartments.
  • Researching what Bachelor of Interior Design to do next year.
  • Disconnecting from the wrong people. Reconnecting with the right people.
  • Getting fat. Complaining about getting fat. Stopping my exercise routine. Restarting my exercise routine.
  • Reading. Yep, I've started reading again. My brain cells are rejoicing.
  • And the usual; eccentric thinking, inappropriate joke cracking & consistent clumsiness.

This song features heavily in my life soundtrack.

'All I can do is pour some tea for two,
and speak my point of view.
But its not sane.'

Sneaker Freaker

Sunday just past was awesome. I woke up a bit late [I blame that on the FA Cup Final & clips of The Office on You Tube the night before], picked up Flo and we moseyed on down to Smith Street for a bite to eat and a bit of a window shop. Smith St Bazaar was loaded with beautiful pieces of furniture and wears for us to look at. Flo has recently renovated a Windsor apartment and I am gearing up for my Interior Design degree next year, so we both made a beeline there, even with bellies filled with seafood jambalaya from Gluttony. I nearly purchased a vintage Dior satchel, and am now kicking myself for not doing so. We then headed down to the Converse and Adidas outlets to fulfill my latest need [or should I say, 'need'] for loads and loads of colourful sneakers. Alas I didn't find a pair of the popularly coveted Green Converse Chucks, but I did take home a few small treats. Which leads me to the question.... are you a Sneaker Freaker?

Happy

Despite the start of 2009 being a bit of a roller coaster for me, I'm finally feeling at peace again today. For real this time.

Igor + Andre

Driving home this afternoon, pulled up at a red light, and a thought popped into my head:
"I don't effing draw enough. "

It was my major at uni, a major I chose because I loved it. So what the hell is going on?
My procrastination, that's what.

From tonight: no more TV [except for Gossip Girl] . No more unnecessary internet surfing [responding to emails and reading my favourite blogs is all that is allowed]. No more lying on my bed staring at the ceiling, thinking about what I should be doing. Any spare time I have, I am going to spend it drawing.

Meanwhile, check out Igor + Andre for some inspiration if you are in the same rut as I [one I seem to be forever in]. Portrait were always my favourite, albeit most frustrating to get right.

Also, I think I want that t-shirt.

Yeah yeah, I'm meant to be saving, right?

I've tried to resist liking Lily Allen. But its just too hard. I like her spunk.

This Sunday, I'm spending listening to It's Not Me, It's You and sewing. Sweet.
